Happy Numero 2 Olivia

It is January 14th and this is my second blog post!  That means I'm right on track.  Good news is, it is also Olivia's Second Birthday.  I can't believe it.  My little human is 2.  I was a little bit less emotional this year and a little more proud of the person she is becoming, and I still relived every hour of her Birth day.

Richie and I spent last night re-reading her birth book that our amazing friends and family made us with letters to Olivia from their perspective about the day she was born.  They are still as beautiful to read as the first time around.  It's amazing how many people love our sweet little O.

We celebrated for 3 days straight.

It all started with a breakfast party at our house with our closest friends and neighbors.  We had planned a playground party but it was rained out.  The kids were none the wiser and I think us grown ups were happy to have everyone contained and dry.  We had breakfast tacos and carrot cake cupcakes, balloons, and Sesame Street characters everywhere.

We continued the party the next day running and cheering at the 3M Half Marathon.  Richie and I were racing for personal records and we were lucky enough to get to run with some of our very best friends Katie, Kacie, Tim, and John.  We were also lucky enough to have Tinka, Bobee, Aunt Ginger, Pumba, and Mo looking out for Oli and cheering us on.  It was a beautiful and cold day to run and everyone ran amazingly.

The celebration ended today, on Olivia's actual birthday.  January 14.  The most amazing day.  The four of us cuddled in bed in the dark this morning and then sadly sent Richie off to work.  We played Sesame Street.  We made animal pancakes.  Eddy, Kacie, Bobee, Pumba, and Tinka came for breakfast.  We played some more.  We tried for a nap but were too excited.  We had a quesadilla with candles on it.  We played more, built a bear cave, played with Clara and Staci, and went to delicious family dinner at Central Market.  We asked you what you wanted to eat on your birthday and you said fish and cake.  That is what we got you.  Fish and Cake.  We are so thankful for you and proud of you and love you more than yesterday.  Tanto, tanto, mas que nunca.

You received many great gifts for Christmas and your birthday this year.  You are one lucky little girl.  I am partial to three of them because I'm a sucker for handmade things.  The first is an Owl in an O made by Richie's Aunt Ruth who we all call Nina, the second and third are a Fiesta O and a #dos T-shirt made by Aunt Kacie.
