February 15, 2011

Today was a rough day. You haven't slept at all in 17 days. We are all tired but mostly really frustrated that you are still hurting. We are on our second yeast treatment and treated for reflux and nothing seems to work to help you feel better. We had a mommy baby group and our friend Shaida was there. She is a mom and a pediatrician and she suggested a miracle blanket, colic calm gripe water, and a pacifier to see if they helped enough until you outgrew this. That night you slept 3 hours, 4 hours, and then some shorter shifts but you actually had calm moments. We were so thankful. We are on the second day of that, and even though you still have a lot of gas and pains that don't let you sleep during the day, you are sleeping more at night and that's a good thing. Feel better love.

First valentines day

Today we went to Dell to surprise your dad. Johnathan met us and helped us sneak in. We walked up to your dad's cube and he was shocked. We brought him Chick Fila and chocolate strawberries and you gave him gummie bears and 2 beautiful pictures of you to put up at work. He said it was his best valentines ever;)

Second 2 weeks of life

You are 14 days old today, January 28th, 2011.  You started your day by spitting up all over the bed - a ton of spit up.  Then you got really fussy and your belly started doing weird things.  You started having a really hard time sleeping.  Michele thinks you have yeast in your tummy so we treated you with purple Gentian Violet and it stained your face.  You are miserable.  Can't sleep longer than 30 minutes at a time, day or night.  We are all tired.  Mommy and Daddy are worried and sad.  We go to the doctor- they think you have Reflux - we start you on Zantac - nothing helps.  Michele still thinks it's yeast, we start treating you for that with medicine and treating mommy too.  15 days later, you are feeling better and sleeping - we are so happy.  We had nights that we walked the house all night long because you were so sad and hurting.  You seem to be doing better.  Hopefully it keeps up.

First 2 weeks of Life

All is well.  You sleep 2-3 hours at a time, day and night.  We figured out that you are always held, except at night when you sleep between your dad and I.  You love it.  You got your first sponge bath.  You already smile - even though some people say it's gas:)  You pooped all over mom in the middle of the night - projectile pooped. We sun you 2 times a day to get rid of Jaundice.  You went from 8 lbs to 7 lbs 4 oz on your 3 day check up, but at one week you were back to 7 lbs 11oz.  You didn't want to nurse the first day you were born but that night you woke up hungry and now you love to eat and are really good at it.  Mima and Gramps came to meet you.  Aunt Ginger and Uncle Joey did too.  Aunt Stephi and Logan made a special trip to meet you.  Nina and Zach met you too.  We all love to cuddle with you.
